Exploring Emotions through Improv Writing - Clarity

In this 4-week workshop, we learn to feel into and explore emotions through improvised writing.

In this workshop we hold the space for everyone to feel and express their emotions more profoundly as we practice describing them in a way that makes it easier for others to relate. The writing prompts are designed to help us tap into feelings, and the goal, through writing, is to create a visual image of those feelings.

This goes contrary to most of us having been told to suppress our feelings and emotions, yet it is a skill that we must learn to tap into if we want to communicate more effectively. The human experience is all about feeling emotions that exist inside of our bodies. We want to create a safe space to share and practice feeling what is, as it is, and in turn communicate those feelings in a way others can experience them as well.

Each workshop includes:

  • A short meditation to tap into sensations in the body.
  • Fun improv exercises to help us connect to and express our emotions.
  • Writing prompts to help us connect to, explore, and describe emotions in a way that others can feel into our experience.

Each workshop builds on the other to deepen our understanding and practice of tapping into emotions.

The next workshop starts Saturday May 1, and runs for 4 weeks.  Each workshop session runs from 11am-12:30pm.

What People Are Saying:

MJ is rare. She is a gem with magnet. Her Improv sessions provide a safe space for us to explore, to be spontaneous, to link to the inner child, and to integrate. You can just be yourself with her. It's easy to say non-judgment, in her sessions I really feel and live it. Therefore I grow without growing pain.

Marie-Josee does such an amazing job with the improv games. She creates a space that is open, friendly and welcoming. It’s a great atmosphere and it’s super fun. I always leave feeling like I’ve learned something new about myself and the other participants in the group. Her groups are a great way to connect with myself and others.
