Exploring Emotions through Improv Writing - Session

In this 1.5 hour session, we learn to feel into and explore emotions through improvised writing.

In a world where we often are told to suppress emotions, these sessions are where we hold the space for everyone to feel and express their emotions, using improvised creative writing as a tool.

We explore various emotions through writing. We use emotions, prompts or other ideas to prompt our writing and exploration. Each exercise involve a 1 to 2 minutes independent writing period. When the time is up, everyone takes turn to read what they wrote out loud to the group. No previous writing experience is required. This is impromptu writing for exploring our emotions.

Each session includes:

  • A short meditation to tap into sensations in the body.
  • Fun improv exercises to help us connect to and express our emotions.
  • Writing prompts to help us connect to, explore, and describe emotions in a way that others can feel into our experience.

Each session is designed to help deepen our understanding and practice of tapping into emotions.

Exploring Emotions through Writing Improv Sessions are currently held at 7pm the 1st Thursday every other month..

Important Note: You must subscribe to our email list to receive emails about the next session.  Our system only emails people on our list.

What People Are Saying:

MJ is rare. She is a gem with magnet. Her Improv sessions provide a safe space for us to explore, to be spontaneous, to link to the inner child, and to integrate. You can just be yourself with her. It's easy to say non-judgment, in her sessions I really feel and live it. Therefore I grow without growing pain.
