Did you read or watch Harry Potter?

There are quite a few surprising lessons. The first that hit me is the sorting hat wisdom. Your past - what's in you - doesn't define you. It's what you want to create that matters.

The second is how it's not our fears that scare us. It's speaking of them.

We are afraid to do the very thing that would free us - speak.

When I realized that not speaking my fear held me back, I decided to speak my fear out loud.

I was crying, hugging a pillow, as I voiced that fear.

I thought my world would end the minute it was put into words.

And you know what happened?

My husband laughed.

I couldn't believe it!

And that's the thing. It's funny once you can look at it from the perspective of your words.

Perhaps that's why we are told to fear nothing but fear itself.

What is not speaking of your fear costing you?

Ps. If you are still wondering what my biggest fear was, it's people finding out I am divorced.

In a world where more than 50% of marriages end up in divorce, it seems like an irrational fear. But from my perspective, growing up with a single mom who was shunned and refused services because she didn't have a husband, it makes sense.

Except that's an old outdated belief that is now only holding me back.

Your fears are the same. They might have once been perfectly rational. But they aren't anymore. Now they only hold you back.

Speak them to dissolve them. xxx
