Have you heard of the transformation pyramid? What most people teaching it miss is where ALL the transformation truly happens, at the roots (or soul level).
Think of your life like a tree:
• Environment is the weather around you.
• Behaviours are the leaves — what people can see.
• Skills are the branches you grow to reach.
• Beliefs and values are the trunk, feeding and shaping your direction.
• Identity is the root system — who you believe you are.
• And deeper still, there’s the soul-soil — the place of wholeness that holds it all.

If you only prune the leaves, the roots still feed the same story. That’s why willpower fades. That’s why motivation runs out. That’s why “working harder” only burns you out.

I know, because I was the energizer bunny, motivated, strong will power, completely burnt out, compromising my health and relationships, and I was still ticking. Until I couldn’t get out of bed one morning.

I was exhausted, angry for no reason, and depression was becoming a frequent companion. Life had become much too hard. So hard, it wasn’t worth living anymore.

And in that moment of discomfort, ready to end it all, I had an insight. What if I lived first? Neuroscience shows that the discomfort—the threshold moment—dissolves in 90 seconds if you are willing to feel it. On the other side, there is a new possibility that was not previously available to you. The brain rewires, your identity reshapes, and new meaning is created as you move through the discomfort.

It's mind-blowing. I know.

I realized for the first time I had never given life a chance. I was living a story passed down to me that said, “Work harder, achieve, prove you are worthy to take up space.“

I wasn’t looking for transformation; I just wanted to be myself again – the playful, witty, fun-loving person I knew I was underneath the bulldoze-through surface. And that journey is what led me to create Story Alchemy.
